The SoyCon Craftsmanship Masquerade is a collaboration of costumes showcased by attendees who spent time, money, and effort on their costumes for display or compete for awards.
There will be only 4 awards given for this year's SoyCon.

Novice
Journeyman
Master
Participants are required to showcase their costumes on stage.
Staff are allowed to participate. Judges are not eligible to participate.
Participants are recommended to do at least one pose and at most 3 poses in front of the judges and audience.
No surprises. This includes proposals, prop gunfire, streaking, etc. Please check with the judges beforehand if you want to do something to impress the audience.
Please don't leave anything on stage. You are not the only person who uses the stage. What is brought on stage, must be off the stage afterwards.
Check-in with the judges at least an hour before the show. If you are not checked in by then, you will not be allowed to participate.
Judges will be checking badges during check-in. Make sure you have one with you at the time of the check-in.
We are strongly encouraging for all participants to wear public appropriate costumes will be allowed to enter if costume is too revealing.
Craftsmanship and Walk-on entrants will not be allowed to participate in the Improv. Masquerade.
Groups are only equal to one entry.
Max of 5 Persons Per Group.
One entry can only win one award.
Craftsmanship Registration
Pre-Registration deadline is June 1st at 12:00am.
Any forms received (e-mail stamped) after the deadline will not be accepted.

Capacity Entry Limit (50 Entrees)
Open Division = 20
Novice Division = 15
Journeyman Division = 10
Master Division = 5
Waiting = (Pending On Entrees) Up to 5 in each category.
Please see one of the judges during the picnic to check-in for the masquerade.
Late entrees will forfeit their spots if fail to check-in or show up.
Check the forums for the complete list of registered participants.
Let either one of the judges or Soy Sauce know if you cannot arrive by check-in, preferably before the deadline. There will be others on the waiting that would love to take your spot.
Signing up for the masquerade is possible, but it may be very limited. I highly recommend pre-registering. If you sign at con, there's a high chance that it could be filled already.
Coordinators or judges have final word in judgement.

Masquerade Rules
Behavior
SoyCon will not tolerate with any foul language and/or inappropriate actions during the masquerade.
Be courteous and respectful to you other fellow entrants and staff who are part of the show.
Offensive or negative remarks or actions during the masquerade will result in disqualification.
For anyone to break these rules repeatedly with result removal from SoyCon.
Staging
SoyCon does not have a stage for masquerade presentation so please bare with us as we use a designated area as our “stage”.
All entrants must enter, present, and exit during your turn on stage.
Props
Live steel is prohibited. Any exposed steel will result in automatic disqualification.
Keep prop swinging to a minimal, preferably close to your body. Be cautious of your surroundings.
No firearms unless it has an orange tip. Do not fire your replicas.
No objects being thrown on or off stage. Period!!!
No fires, explosives, powder, or lasers. If a costume contains from kind of flashing lights, please notify the judges or MCs before the show.

Divisions
Open
Anyone is eligible to participate in this division. If you are competition in another category, you cannot be eligible to participate in this division.
All ages are accepted.
This section is for presentation only. No costumes will be judged.
No awards will be given in this category.
Any uncompetitive costumes and commissioned costumes are allowed to join.
Any modified clothing can participate in this category. Highly modified costumes are acceptable to compete in any other division.
Since we have no Junior division participants of ages 15 years are younger must enter here.
Novice
Participants must be at least 16 years of age in order to compete in the novice division.
This category are for participants with none to few experiences in the masquerade.
Anyone that has 0-3 awards from either local or regional conventions are eligible.
For those who have 3+ awards must compete in the Journeyman division or higher.
Journeyman
Participants must be at least 16 years of age in order to compete in the journeyman division.
Category is for participants who have numerous experiences in the masquerade.
Must have won 4-6 awards from local or regional conventions or won “Best Novice” at SoyCon.
For those who have 6+ awards must compete in the Master Division.
Master
Participants must be at least 16 years of age in order to compete in the master division.
Master level participants must at least have a high level of experience participating in the masquerade.
Participants must of taken at least “Best Journeyman” at SoyCon or won at least 7 awards from local or regional conventions.
